WT Online: Relaxed Roman Shades

In this three week online course you will complete two relaxed roman shade samples using different fabrication methods; a stationary basic, square cut relaxed shade and a flared hem functional relaxed shade using the VAKO 20.04 Clutch headrail system. A detailed list of what you will need to complete your class projects will be emailed after registration.
The class includes:
- Three 1-hour online lessons with instructor Laurie Medford, presented live and recorded to review later (with 3-months of access online after class is completed).
- Written how-to instructions
- Optional class kit can be purchased for $95.00 and includes: sew on shade rings, screw eyes, lift cord, weight bar cover tube, Safe-T-Shade Forever Rings and Ring Locks, cord adjusting orbs, Velcro and safety warning tag.

Lesson One
- Measuring the window
- Pre-planning and fabrication options
- Figuring yardage and working with pattern repeats
- Selecting fabrics
- Cuts and prep for the first project
Lesson Two
- Sewing the basic relaxed shade
- Board mounting
- Dressing and installation
- Cuts and prep for the second class project
Lesson Three
- Sewing a flared hem relaxed shade
- Mounting to the lift system with Velcro
- Dressing and installation
- Cord safety
This is an intermediate level course. A fundamental understanding of sewing roman shades is required. Basic tools and supplies are needed to complete the project. In additon to supplies mentioned above, you will need: sewing machine, scissors, pins, iron, tape measure & ruler or yardstick, needles and thread and a staple gun and staples.
