A New Adventure in Education

I am proud to share one of the most exciting announcements of my career in the workroom industry; my husband Rodger Walker and I are opening a hands-on training facility for workrooms! Custom Workroom Technical Center or "Workroom Tech" will open this summer with weekly hands-on classes for window treatments and soft furnishings. Classes will be offered for all skill levels, whether you would like to learn to sew home decor and start a workroom business, or are an established professional seeking to hone your skills.

Workroom Tech is located in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains near our home in Tryon, North Carolina. While taking classes at Workroom Tech you can enjoy the "friendliest town in the south" and walk to restaurants, shops and galleries. There's a wide variety of lodging options from Bed and Breakfasts, Inns, vacation rentals and hotels. See a video about Tryon, NC

Our goal is to continue the tradition of teaching others how to sew custom window treatments and soft furnishings. I believe there is no better way to learn than by doing it yourself and with small class sizes, professional equipment and supplies and the guidance of talented instructors, you will not find a better learning experience!

We are busy getting the space ready, setting up the classroom and working on this website and class schedule. Please follow Workroom Tech on facebook to see our progress as we get Workroom Tech ready for students and let us know what you would like to learn. I hope to see you one day soon at Workroom Tech!

Best Wishes,

Susan Woodcock
